What kind of therapy do you offer?
Deep Heart's Core is a Depth-Oriented practice. That means the work goes beyond symptom management and to patterns underneath.
What does a depth-oriented approach actually look like?
Slower and less structured than short term models, and more interested in meaning rather than technique. We will talk about what's happening and also where it comes from. I won't hand you a worksheet or a six-session plan. Knowing this early can help you decide.
What is your approach with couples?
My current approach with couples is emotionally focused therapy, which looks at the cycles couples fall into in rather than who is right. In my experience, the problem isn't what you are fighting about — it's the pattern you're both caught up in.
Do you take insurance?
No. Deep Heart's Core offers counseling and specialized services entirely outside of the insurance-based model. There are real benefits to using your health insurance — and real trade-offs. Insurance requires a diagnosis, creates a claims record, and produces an electronic trail outside of your control. Health data breaches have affected millions of people, including the 2024 Change Healthcare breach. At Deep Heart's Core, no diagnosis is assigned for billing and nothing about your care is submitted to an insurer. Knowing the trade-offs lets you make an informed choice about your care.
What are some of the hourly fees?
Individual Counseling $150, 1 hour
Marriage Counseling $150, hour
Q&A call $50, 20 minute
What is the first therapy hour like?
Mostly you talking and me listening. I will ask what brought you here, what you've tried already, and what you are hoping to change. You don't need to prepare anything or have it organized. You might be unsure of yourself or what to say or you may want to say as much as you can in an hour. Either is a fine way to begin.
