Discovery

Couples & Relationships

I aim to facilitate a collaborative space where we can work together toward cultivating a secure and honest foundation for your future. Within our sessions, I seek to offer a professional framework for mutual understanding, helping you both explore way to express your truths and practice meaningful vulnerability.

My goal is to partner with you in exploring practical tools that align with your shared values, focusing on ways to potentially strengthen your emotional bond. I strive to guide our shared process so you can discover new ways to listen and grow as a team, with the intent of helping you build a more resilient and thriving relationship.

Finding Your Way Back to Each Other

Private-pay couples and relationship counseling for partners who want to change what keeps happening between them. Most couples arrive knowing the fight by heart. They can predict where it starts and how it ends, and they still cannot stop it. We can work on changing these recurring patterns with close attention to the feelings that are driving the argument in the first place. Connecting to these feelings in mutual recognition, akin to the first time your eyes met, can break the pattern's hold. And then you are free to build something better.

You already know how to be good together. You have done it. This is about finding your way back to that, with someone who can see the pattern you cannot see from inside it.

How the Work is Structured

Couples work with me has a shape. I ask couples to commit to an initial three months. That is long enough to see the pattern clearly, do real work on it, and know whether this is helping. At the end of those three months we decide together whether to continue. Some couples are finished; others go deeper. Either way, you will know where you stand.

Recovering from an Affair

Recovery from an affair is its own kind of work. It moves through phases, and couples move through them at very different speeds. If it starts to feel like it is taking too long, it may help to know that the usual course runs a year or two. Some couples move faster, some need longer, and I will be honest with you about where you are along the way.

Values in the Work

Certain values shape how partners treat each other, and I will encourage them in our work together: respect, boundaries, honesty, safety and well-being, personal autonomy and freedom, nurturing growth and development, dignity, acceptance, and kind communication. Many people come in motivated by fear of what they might lose. That is a fine reason to start. It is not what I want holding your marriage together by the time we finish.

If faith is central to your marriage, whether Christian, Jewish, or another tradition, and you want it to be part of how you make decisions, raise your children, and strengthen your relationship, I am glad to work within that.
